Scythes is a Weapon category in Death's Gambit Afterlife. Scythes symbolizes the grim reaper, it has a long curved blade and is lightweight compared to an axe, making it easier to catch enemies and punish them with swings and strikes. Each weapon features a unique moveset to their weapon type. Weapon categories grant specific Abilities to the player when equipped. The protagonist can equip up to two weapons, one in each weapon slot. While engaging in Combat, only one of the two slotted weapons may be used at a time, and the player may alternate between them at any point during a fight.

The only category of weapon that supersedes this rule are the Daggers, which are wielded in pairs, one in each hand, and only occupy one weapon slot.  Unlike other games, Shields do not occupy any weapon slots but are instead given their own, therefore you shall always have a shield available regardless of the amount of weapons you have equipped. Weapons can be upgraded +1 to +10 through the use of Soul Stones and Immortalite.

Upgrading Weapons

In Deatrh's Gambit: Afterlife, once you've rescued Zuma, the Acolyte of Death (this can be done early in the game), speak to him back at the Central Sanctuary and he'll teach you how to upgrade your equipment. From there, if you've also defeated the Soul of the Phoenix boss, you'll also gain access to upgrade your wares when you are resting at a Death Idol. Weapons can be upgraded +1 to +10 through the use of Soul Stones and Immortalite. Scrapping Weapons

With the same concept, once you've rescued Zuma, the Acolyte of Death, you can also scrap unwanted or duplicate shields in exchange for x1 Soul Stone. Scrapping can also be done from a Death Idol or speaking to Zuma.

it's sad that this is the only weapon after the afterlife update that did not got many variants, one of the variants does nothing different from the base schythe.

why are you saying scythes? there is one scythe in the entire game effectively. been playing for 12 hours, haven't had a single one drop. fun times in vylnoth now. these drop +2 in the Vale? I farmed 20 levels in the vale and some gear like the crest of Gaia, never a single one dropped. that would have made those damn wolves more bearable. but it really is more helpful for my acolyte to have +5 swords and hammers flooding the inventory screen....

Scythe damage does not have good scaling in the end but you can stack up your damage buff with the scythe skill Reap to a very high level (even in boss fight) which makes it a good weapon. However, you move so much when attacking which may be a problem.
