Eldritch Council is a Boss in Death's Gambit. Located in Journey's End, and one of the three holders of the Sigils of Caer Siorai.

The wind carries whispers of the Crimson Court, a secret society beneath Aldwynn run by Inquisitor Holdrem. All came to eventually know the prison spire as their journey's end.

Thoughts of betrayal threatened her seat as warden, and she swiftly snuffed the opposition from her council. They eventually returned, obedient and changed.

Eldritch Council

Attacks

  • Blood Rising. While you are destroying a crystal or fighting the Inquisitor herself, blood begins to fill the arena very quickly at a percentage indicated at the top of the screen. When it begins to touch Sorun, it deals damage. While fighting the Eldritch Caster, it fills much slower. Destroying a crystal resets the percentage.
  • Soulshot. The Inquisitor will fire a soul projectile down towards Sorun. Upon impacting the floor, it splits into two more that arc and land parallel to one another.
  • Crystals. There are four crystals present throughout the arena. Destroying one will summon an Eldritch Caster that will attack Sorun with an attack based on the crystal destroyed, and make the crystals invulnerable. The Eldritch Caster must be killed in order to make the crystals vulnerable. Each crystal gives the Inquisitor a special ability.
    • Teal: Energy Orb Waves. The Inquisitor creates a series of red orbs on both sides of the arena, shooting towards each other and dealing contact damage.
    • Orange: Energy Orb Vortex. The Inquisitor throws down an orb of energy that pulses out white energy that pulls Sorun towards it.
    • Red: Blood Bullets.  The Inquisitor creates an orb of energy that explodes into a spray of red blood bullets.
    • Purple: Dual Blood Burst. The Inquisitor summons up two bloodbursts at a location indicated by a skull icon. The bloodburst hten forms a bloodsluge that travels towards Sorun, dealing damage, poison buildup, and contagion buildup on contact.
  • Eldritch Caster. The Eldritch Caster has the following attacks, based on what crystal has been destroyed. The Eldritch Caster is resistant to dark damage.
    • Teal: Energy Orb Rain. The Eldritch Caster channels its magic to create an orb of energy that floats above the arena, shooting down damaging rain.
    • Orange: Energy Orb Vortex. The Eldritch Caster channels its magic to create an orb of energy that pulses out white energy that pulls Sorun towards it. Its health rapidly depletes.
    • Red: Blood Bullets. The Eldritch Caster channels its magic to create an orb of energy that explodes into a spray of red blood bullets.
    • Purple: Bloodburst. The Eldritch Caster channels its magic to create a bloodburst at a location indicated by a skull icon. The bloodburst then forms a bloodsludge that travels towards Sorun, dealing damage, poison buildup, and contagion buildup on contact.
  • Inquisitor. After all crystals are defeated, or after the Inquisitor has received enough damage, the Inquisitor descends and begins to attack with all unlocked abilities, as well as Soulshot.

Heroic Attacks

  • Heroic Blood Rising. While you are destroying a crystal or fighting the Inquisitor herself, blood begins to fill the arena very quickly at a percentage indicated at the top of the screen. When it begins to touch Sorun, it deals massive damage. While fighting the Eldritch Caster, it fills slower. Destroying a crystal resets the percentage.
  • Heroic Soulshot. The Inquisitor will fire a soul projectile down towards Sorun. Upon impacting the floor, it splits into two more that arc and land parallel to one another, forming additional projectiles.
  • Heroic Dual Blood Burst. The Inquisitor summons up two bloodbursts at a location indicated by a skull icon. The bloodburst then forms a bloodsluge that travels towards Sorun, dealing damage, poison buildup, and contagion buildup on contact.
  • Heroic Blood Barrage. The Inquisitor creates two orbs of energy that shoot a constrant stream of bullets towards Sorun.
  • Heroic Crystals. There are four crystals present throughout the arena. Destroying one will summon an Eldritch Caster that will attack Sorun with an attack based on the crystal destroyed. The crystals are always vulnerable. After the Eldritch Caster is defeated, the Inquisitor gains a new ability.
    • Far Left: Heroic Energy Orb Waves. The Inquisitor creates a series of red orbs on both sides of the arena, shooting towards each other and dealing contact damage, before bouncing back off the walls.
    • Left: Heroic Energy Orb Vortex. The Inquisitor creates an orb of energy that pulses out white energy that pulls Sorun towards it. Its health rapidly depletes. Upon reaching zero health, it explodes into a horizontal lightning beam.
    • Right: Blood Barrage. The Inquisitor creates three orbs of energy. One explodes into an omnidirectional ring of blood bullets, while the other two shoot a constant stream towards Sorun.
    • Far Right: Heroic Blood Burst. The Inquisitor creates a bloodburst at a location indicated by a skull icon. The bloodburst then forms a massive bloodsludge that travels towards Sorun, dealing large damage, poison buildup, and contagion buildup on contact.
  • Heroic Eldritch Caster. The Eldritch Caster has the following attacks, based on what crystal has been destroyed.

    • Far Left: Heroic Energy Orb Rain. The Eldritch Caster channels its magic to create an orb of energy that floats above the arena, shooting down damaging rain. It slowly sinks towards the floor. When struck, bombs come off of it.
    • Left: Heroic Energy Orb Vortex. The Eldritch Caster chanenls its magic to create an orb of energy that pulses out white energy that pulls Sorun towards it. Its health rapidly depletes. Upon reaching zero health, it explodes into a horizontal lightning beam.
    • Right: Heroic Blood Bullets. The Eldritch Caster creates three orbs of energy above itself. One explodes into an omnidirectional ring of blood bullets, while the other two shoot a constant stream towards Sorun.
    • Far Right: Heroic Blood Burst. The Eldritch Caster creates a bloodburst at a location indicated by a skull icon. The bloodburst then forms a massive bloodsludge that travels towards Sorun, dealing large damage, poison buildup, and contagion buildup on contact.
  • Heroic Inquisitor. After all crystals are defeated, the Heroic Inquisitor descends and begins to attack with all four abilities, as well as Heroic Soulshot.

Strategy

  • The Inquisitor can be damaged with ranged attacks throughout the fight. If enough damage is dealt to her, she will descend regardless of crystals broken.
  • The Aura of Blood is extremely effective to fight against the build up of blood, if you can dodge the attacks from the Inquisitor and Caster.

Trivia

  • The Inquisitor is implied to be called Jocasta Holdrem, from bits of Vrael's dialogue and an ambient lullaby found throughout the game.

Heroic took me over 80 tries with no ranged damage. Longsword is useful to deal sustained damage with the jumping ability, as it refreshes on killing an enemy, and you are invulnerable while jumping, so you can land on the orbs that send lightning and take no damage from them (with the casters nearby, so they take damage too), or the blood slimes, or even the crystals (have to lead the mages away from them), and can use as a last resort to dodge the bullet hell. Blocking red bullets makes you temprarily invulnerable to the rest of them. Used gaia spear (for another jump ability + healing from it) and the lightsaber that explodes the bleeding. As blood knight. Killing this thing on heroic was a MASSIVE accomplishment on its own.

I've been trying to defeat this on heroic and it's impossible. Been looking up guides, but all of them play on a different patch where the red projectiles don't hit the player or they use a dmg buff glitch from another boss witch is patched. It's a shame would have really wanted 100% this game but with the red dot thing patched this boss is impossible to beat, too much***** on the screen to deal with at once and not nearly enough dps to kill all the mobs before new ones spawn in let alone kill the boss while everything is happening. Have tried schyte, daggers, bow and gun all 9+ upgraded. Tips?

This is yet another one of those wiki sites where every single article is a stub, and useless. What a shame, the lore seemed interesting.

This boss is a giant stinky stain on this game. The normal version is not fun to fight and the heroic version is simply broken. The devs are better off scraping it from the game or remaking it from scratch because there is no fixing this. Clearly, they haven't tested this boss AT ALL.

Absolutely impossible on heroic. Cannot be beaten. Too much crap on the screen, too much HP, too much everything.

i have a few tips for this boss: This is a time sensitive boss as the blood below starts to rise, So DPS with DOT and CoolDowns are more than needed. You may find yourself dodging alot of projectiles this fight so a bow of fire or bleed is recommended to keep the damage going also you can shoot the boss from atop for Pre Damage before they drop down. Destroy the first crystal as the orbs that fall slowly will knock you up and away. The next crystal should be the third as that will draw you in. Again time sensitive so you want to get rid of things that are going to hinder your over movement.
