Upgrades in Death's Gambit refers to the improvement of Weapons, Shields and Armor by applying special items found through progression. Players may upgrade equipment up to +10. A new addition to the game is the ability to upgrades Sorun's exploration. Some existing mechanics in Death's Gambit has since been modified since the release of the new Afterlife Expansion. Other new upgrades include the ability to unlock 3rd and 4th Talent trees.
Upgrades in Death's Gambit
Air Dash
Press dodgeroll button while holding left or right in the air to dash
You gain this ability after killing the Owl King in the Rider's Passage
Crash Down
Press dodgeroll button in the air to crash down. This can break through any floor with a glowing sigil. Blinds enemies hit, this blinding effect recharges every 45 seconds.
You gain this ability after killing the Forgotten Gaian
Double Jump
Press jump while in the air to perform a double jump
You gain this ability after killing the Bulwark of Aldwynn
Perfect Block
Take your shield out right as you are about to get hit to perfect block. Press Attack right after to do a finishing Strike!
Perfect Block is an existing mechanic that had had modifications since the Afterlife Expansion. Players now have an option to deal a secondary type of attack where a counter-attack followed by the perfect block, the character will perform a slide dash with a shield instead of a kick.
Magical Flower
Touching glowing flowers gives you infinite double jump for 10 seconds
You gain this ability after killing the Wraith King Sirad
Upgrade Mastery
Can now Upgrade and Scrap when you rest at a Death Idol.
You gain this ability after killing the Soul of the Phoenix
Dreamshift
Can teleport to any Death Idol while resting at a Death Idol.
Obtained after Thalamus encounter.
Talent Tree Upgrades
3rd Talent Tree Unlocked
Secondary class Talent tree unlocked. Carefully decide between 1 of 6 different trees. The Second Class Tree is unlocked after first defeating the Dark Knight boss. Players will then have the option of choosing only one other secondary classs tree with the set of talents of another Class.
Advanced Talent Tree Unlocked
Advanced Talent Tree Unlocked. In Death's Gambit Afterlife, players will eventually encounter a new boss called The Grey Wanderer. Defeating the Grey Wanderer will allow players to unlock the Advanced Talent Tree.
Equipment Upgrades
In order to enchant your equipment, first you need to find the Enchanter Zuma. Once you save him it will appear in the Sanctuary, near Death´s statue. NPC Ash found in Journey's End can also enchant and disenchant your equipment
The requirements are:
- +1 = 2 Soul Stones
- +2 = 4 Soul Stones
- +3 = 8 Soul Stones
- +4 = 16 Soul Stones
- +5 = 32 Soul Stones
- +6 = 2 Immortalite Stones
- +7 = 4 Immortalite Stones
- +8 = 8 Immortalite Stones
- +9 = 16 Immortalite Stones
- +10 = 32 Immortalite Stones
- 62 Soul Stones, and Immortalite Stones, to fully upgrade one piece of Equipment
Heroic Bosses also drop upgraded version of equipment:
Heroic Bosses drop:
- Cusith : + 6 version of the weapon in your weapon slot 1
- Galaxy Mage Amulvaro : +9 version of the weapon in your weapon slot 1. +11 version, if the player fights the boss with a single debuff applied to the player. +12 version if the player fights the boss with all 4 debuffs.
